The Anodized aluminum GrillGrate package for the Yoder Smokers YS1500 Pellet Cooker is a premium upgrade designed to elevate your grilling experience. When installed, this package enhances the performance of your grill by raising the grate temperature on the left side beyond the 650-degree mark. This creates the sought-after steakhouse quality grill marks, accelerates cooking times, and achieves intense caramelization, resulting in the color and texture commonly associated with cooking over an open fire or gas grill.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GrillGrates, it’s essential to follow proper care and cleaning instructions. During the initial uses, apply grill spray or canola oil sparingly to the GrillGrates. Always oil your food before placing it on the grill to prevent sticking. Avoid over-cleaning the grates initially to allow them to season and develop a non-stick coating. Over time, the grates will transition in color from gray to light brown to black. Avoid using harsh cleaners, dishwasher, or prolonged exposure to very high heats (850F +) as it can warp the grates over time. For occasional deep cleaning, the GrillGrates can be cleaned in the sink or washtub. Utilize some panels right side up and others flipped upside down to create a griddle area on your grill. By occasionally rotating the grates, they will self-clean, maintaining their performance.
